Andrea- 51 days but who is counting!

23 02 2012

Two more days til we hit the 40′s days that is…
Energy is at an all time high as each competitor reaches a different “place” than they have ever been before!
All are looking fabulous and well on track to their placements. A special thank you to Kimberly for helping all of us sort out the “paperwork” on this deal.
Researching rules and categories is not ever as easy as one thinks or ultimately as easy as it should be. We are so much a stronger team with your experience and diligence.
Thank you!

Becky as well continues to crack the code of OPA and all the rules and regs we may want to be aware of should we have any competitors interested!

Andrea-53 days but who is counting…

21 02 2012

Thank god for Wendy !! She keeps things pretty much right as rain around here and the accuracy of our “count down to FAME board” is just a sample of Wendy’s attention to detail!

Feeling at day 53 much better some how… Fresh wind in my sails kind of feel. Time for my own details to fall into place. After a terrific long Family weekend I am feeling “back on my horse” and back on my game…

My new mantra …”Just breathe” cliche I know but it’s working… “Just breathe” and tada… Still Alive!!!

You can borrow that one if you want to,

Energy

21 02 2012

Where do you find your energy? Some days you don’t, you just go to bed early, and look forward to the sweet taste of  morning oatmeal. Andrea, you are an inspiration to all of us, how you are doing this for a third time is amazing, how you ever walked 100km more than once is amazing. You make it seem so easy, most likely because you have the knowledge, but no amount of knowledge can increase your energy, or take away the hunger pains. I would like to thank you right now, I can’t begin to describe how incredible it is to look in the mirror. I am extra excited today, because i know I have hit my “set point’ for after the competition. I am right where I want to stay, and I never would have reached this goal without the help from all. So when I feel hungry I just think about the reason why I decided to join bodilogix….. After years and years of going to gyms, being in the fitness industry, I have reached a goal that most only dream of. No matter what happens from now to competition I feel like I have already won…

Andrea- 54 days and the pressure is on !!

20 02 2012

I am now getting a taste of my own medicine…
I have been fielding the questions from the team and have been for a few weeks…
“How am I doing?” “Will I be ready?”
“I don’t see how this is going to happen Andrea”!!!

Let me set the record straight… You are all doing amazing and you are all on track some actually edging ahead of schedule that is actually more of a concern from where I sit…

I am now a little more than a little concerned about my own preparations.

I don’t remember ever being this tired or this hungry and weak in spirit! My team thus far has been crucial in keeping me focused…

This is the week I will be making it happen or just hanging on for the ride!

Time will tell and sooner than later,,,
Send me your energy fellow Bloggers and readers… I am feeling I could use it !! :)

Wendy…at day 55!

19 02 2012

I have been blog absent this week and decided I needed to make up for this.  I’m feeling really good today – feel like I have an amazing amount of energy surging through me.  (This is a complete 180 from the beginning of my week when I had a day or two of brain atrophy.) Managed to mix up some chocolate chip and peanut butter cookie dough and get a loaf of bread mixed and rising before heading off to town this morning.  I dropped the boys at Walmart and headed off for a tan.  As I refit my goggles while lying in the tanning bed, I looked down and was certain that my abs were presenting themselves.  However, before ego took over, I reminded myself that  abs show well when lying down:  now, to just get them looking great when I’m upright!

Quick stop at the gym to have a coffee and chat with Dave; the sun is shining; people are smiling; heard a rumour that Dave will be offering a “Cardio Sermon” next Sunday morning.  I think Fran started that rumour but I told Dave I will be happy to take part even though Sunday is my “do absolutely no cardio” day.

Back home, get bread in the oven, cookies are baked, ham and veggies out to get ready for supper.  Prepared a few things to make snacks and lunches easier for me this week – Whew!  Family will be arriving soon for our weekly dinner together; not sure how many will be here – somewhere between 14 and 20.  It will be lively and noisy with wine freely flowing and topics being debated.  I then realized since starting on the Fame Journey, food has been the topic of so many conversations, our main focus at times, an obsession.  So as family members and guests come through the door, greeting each other, laughing and making jokes, I’m thinking, right now, for me, food is at the very bottom of my list.  I am so fortunate to have been able to surround myself with such a wonderful group of supportive, positive people; here at home, and at the gym.  It’s just like Thanksgiving….and I am so very thankful indeed!

Andrea- Sleepy Sunday morning Cardio…

19 02 2012

Another one of those days I have felt truely tested!
Man my bed was warm and c0zy! Getting up at 5;45am on a sunday seems so wrong in so many ways but with only 55 days I believe remaining… There really isn’t much of a buffer for “mistakes” in how my personal prep is laid out.

Above and beyond the “rudeness” of Sunday morning cardio the fact is the “exercise” of it or rather the discipline of it promises better decisions made through out the day as I spend my Sunday with my 2 little dolls that are very good at swaying my good judgment,

If Henry and Emme had it their way we would be having pancakes and syrup for breakfast followed by ice cream with a side of chocolate milk…

Ummm …tempting! :)

Andrea- Sleepy oh sooo sleepy!

18 02 2012

Not sure if it is low carbs, lack of sun or what but ohH so sleepy today! I have decided it is lack of sun but just in case I will ensure I hit a “high carb day”…

Interesting regarding my own training it seems no matter how low my carbs are or how tired I am when I am weight training my own strength is holding on or on some lifts even increasing! How is that even possible…

Andrea- Places people get ready for your close-up…

17 02 2012

Love this part of the process of prep… The time when everyone is well on their game and eagerly preparing their routines if routines are required! Just last night we were treated to an awesome performance by super choreographer Devin showing Mike “the moves…” Looks like a great routine !! Mike is sure gonna have a good time nailing this number! Bet you didn’t know Mike can dance,…

well I am here to say… He sure can!!!

Becky- Warning! Hunger Outbreak!

16 02 2012

So some of the competitors have been telling me how hungry they are(as they chew gum and drink H20). It seemed normal to me at first! It is hard going without while everyone else eats what they please! However after a session mon pm with Mike who is now known as Muffin I’m starting to worry about you, the bodilogix member! Monday started out normal and the Mike said something to me about work and Andrea said “what about yams?” I translated the sentence which had nothing to do with yams or food! Everyone giggled! Then Andrea said something and Mike said “what about muffins?” Seriously he heard Muffins, and no Andrea was not talking about food! Funny still right!? Kind of!? Ok so when the third translation had to be done between them when food was not the topic once again, I start to worry! With 60ish days left to go! Will everyone be ok? I’m not worried about the contestants(I can translate for them)but the people of the gym! So I give you this blog as another warning!

1.Speak clearly to all contestants! If they respond with “what about a chocolate cake?” Or other food, correct them quickly! Its dangerous for both u and them to think about food too long! (Keep your appendages back! Think animal in a cage)
2.If a contestant starts salivating randomly or gets a glossy eyed look while you are talking to them slowly back away and try again after their next meal! (They won’t retain what you are saying anyways)
3.Be cautious of speaking about what you have having for dinner, you might quickly become surrounded! (Refresh yourself on safety exits)
4.If a contestant asks you to describe what you are eating… (may the workout gods protect you) do as they say speak slowly, be careful not to look them directly in the eyes and slowly back away! Do not run!(Think bear attacking you)
5.If a contestant snaps at you is quick to jump down your throat or is otherwise moody! Ignore it! Its a low carb day! DO NOT Attempt to tell them they are wrong/moody/ect you will only aggravate them further which will probably result in you battling for your life blocked behind the counter at the gym! (In this extreme case throw a sweet potatoe located on the west end of counter and run like heck! And may the workout gods once again protect you.)
As with gases I am here to help if you need it! Don’t hesitate to contact me regarding this matter or if you discover yourself in a “hunger situation” with a contestant!
